OPSA FAQS

Why Oldfield Park?Why not?

How can I help?

OPSA is always looking for advice from interested individuals. If you have any particular ideas on how we could move forward with any of our projects please register yourself on the link in the sidebar.
Why are you eco-friendly, can’t we just fire off a load of rockets?

Well of course we could and be like any other rocket club or space agency in the world. OPSA is concerned for the environment and particularly about the amount of fossil fuels released into the atmosphere by aircraft and space vehicles. Therefore we feel that environmentally friendly space travel should be promoted over fossil fuels if we are to reduce global warming.

Hold on a minute! Aren’t you using conventional fuels in your rockets

That is correct, we are currently testing model rockets to learn about the logistics of sending a model rocket into space and in order to understand what is required of an alternative power source have no other option but to test using model rocket motors which are basically glorified fireworks. We are currently investigating a variety of non-polluting fuel sources and as soon as we are able, we will switch to these sources.
What if I just want to keep up with OPSA events or news?

That is fine. You can comment as much or as little as you like but please register as a user as that is the best way to keep up with events that are happening at OPSA.
